PHOENIX — ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business was ranked fifth in the country out of 282 schools for its online master’s business administration degree, according to U.S. News and World Report rankings.

They also tied for second in terms of other graduate business programs, behind only Villanova University.

The W.P. Carey School of Business online program achieved an overall score of 89 out of 100. It was only behind Temple University, Carnegie Mellon University, Indiana University and the University of North Carolina in the rankings.

Meanwhile, the overall business program was tied for 25th in the nation by U.S. News.

U.S. News ranked the schools based on five criteria: student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training and student services and technology.

This news came after ASU was named as one of the top 10 universities in terms of graduate employability in 2016 with over 95 percent of full-time MBA students finding a job within 90 days of graduation.

Past graduates have gone on to work at companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon and Boeing.

The W.P. Carey School of Business offers a wide variety of degree programs including business entrepreneurship, global politics and Spanish language and culture, along with many others

It currently has 402 students enrolled in the online program with more than 14,000 enrolled in the school overall. The application deadline for the fall semester ends June 5.
