Main Street Minute: Bashas’ plays chicken with recipe contest

• Bashas’ second annual “Stretch Your Dollar” rotisserie chicken challenge is underway online. Contestants have until Jan. 21 to submit three original recipes, with photos using one of the grocer’s rotisserie chicken. The winner will get a $500 gift card and rotisserie chicken throughout the year.

• The Peoria Police Department has received a nearly $40,000 boost from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The money will be used to help increase traffic enforcement in and around the West Valley city.

• Phoenix-based ViaWest Properties shelled out $60 million for a Chandler industrial park, Business Real Estate Weekly of Arizona reported. The nine-building site is near 56th Street and Chandler Boulevard.
