Tempe police locate once-missing 73-year-old man with Alzheimer’s

PHOENIX — The Tempe Police Department has located an elderly man who went missing on Thursday.
According to a press release, 73-year-old Rainer Walter Palass was last seen in the area of Ray Road and McClintock Drive around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The department said he was located in good condition around 7:30 p.m. the same day.
He was last seen by a family member and has family who live in the area.
Palass was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans and was carrying a black backpack. He suffers from Alzheimer’s and takes medication for his condition.
He is also said to be active and in good physical shape with no immediate life-threatening ailments.
Police said he will answer to his name and does not have a cell phone on him. He was described as a 5-foot, 7-inch-tall white male who weighs about 160 pounds. He has short grey hair and a grey mustache and goatee.
