PHOENIX — If your new year’s resolution was to help out a good cause but you’ve struggled to get the ball rolling, we may have some good news for you.
Four Peaks announced this week that some of the proceeds from the sale of a certain beer were being donated to charity.
While the Golden Lager was technically not a newly released beer, the promotion of $2 being donated for every pint sold at several Valley bars and restaurants began Monday.
The donations to GiGi’s Playhouse Phoenix — a center for those with Down syndrome and their families — will be a combined effort between the brewery and the businesses.
Most of the establishments that are part of the deal are located in either downtown or central Phoenix, though some of the businesses have multiple locations.
If you can’t make the drive or don’t live near any of the spots and still want to try the beer, worry not: It will soon be sold in stores.
Some of the cans will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Phoenix Suns.
Brewed with a legendary German yeast strain, Golden Lager is our crisp, clean helles that, until now, has only been available on draft. Bottles and cans (including the special-edition package you see here celebrating the 50th season of the @suns) will hit stores this month. pic.twitter.com/G6UmYxQYtb

The beer will also be released in bottles.
Part of the brewery’s Single-Tank Series, the Golden Lager is a German-style helles beer, meaning it is light in body with a very mild hop profile.
