Main Street Minute: Hotel occupancy rates rise in Scottsdale

• Hotel occupancy rates in Scottsdale were at 70 percent in October, up slightly from a year ago, according to research firm STR. Meanwhile, average daily room rates jumped nearly 6 percent to $200 while revenue also climbed 6 percent. Scottsdale has outpaced the national average for hotel growth in both rate and revenue.

• A popular healthy-Mediterranean restaurant is getting a face-lift. The Phoenix Business Journal reports Zoe’s Kitchen near 16th Street and Camelback Road has temporarily closed for a remodel that’s expected to be completed mid-December. The eatery will reopen with an expanded menu, shaded patio and other upgrades.

• The Paradise Valley Unified School District is holding a job fair Tuesday. The event runs from 8 a.m. until noon at the district’s administrative center near 32nd Street and Greenway Road. There are openings for bus drivers, crossing guards, clerks, child care associates, maintenance technicians and more.
