Main Street Minute: Lots of deals, freebies for vets on Veterans Day

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. Stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

A lot of local businesses will offer deals or free items for veterans on Veterans Day, provided you are carrying a military ID.

• Basha’s will offer a 10 percent discount to veterans between Friday and Sunday.

• Modern Muse Salon in Arrowhead will offer any veteran a free haircut on Friday.

• Abrazo Community Health Network will provide veterans with free meals Friday at its hospitals in Glendale, Goodyear and Scottsdale.

• Jackson’s Car Wash will offer veterans free full-service car washes at all 11 of its Valley locations on Saturday.

• Veterans can stop by Cider Corps in downtown Mesa on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a free cup of coffee before the parade. Afterwards, they will get $1 off ciders by the glass or growler.

• Texas Roadhouse will give any veteran or active military member a free lunch Saturday. Vets can choose from 10 complimentary menu items.

• Veterans can get a free Grand Slam at any Denny’s location from 5 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

• Veterans can also get a free doughnut at Dunkin Donuts on Saturday.

There were other non-Veterans Day events going on as well:

• Goodwill will host a sidewalk sale on Saturday. Many items will be priced as low as $1.
