PHOENIX — Police have arrested a man who allegedly shot two people inside a Glendale Walmart last December.
The Glendale Police Department said 21-year-old Almalik Ward was found after he was arrested on unrelated charges in California.
Ward has been transferred to Maricopa County, where he was being held on a $500,000 bond.
Two people were injured in last year’s shooting inside the Walmart near Camelback Road and the Loop 101.
Police do not believe the shooting was not random.
“The early indications, from what we can tell, was that the suspect and victims were known to each other,” Glendale Police Department Sgt. Scott Waite told media last year.
Police said Ward met the victims in the parking lot and followed them into the store, where a confrontation happened. Ward allegedly pulled a gun and shot the two men.
One of the victims returned fire. A woman with the victims was seen picking up the shell casings.
After the shooting, Ward drove away from the scene.
