Maricopa County officials searching for Bartlett Lake hit-and-run suspect

On Aug. 5, a 15-year-old and his friend were at a family get together at Bartlett Lake in central Arizona. They were riding jet skis when they saw a teen lying in the water, with another boat nearby.
The teen had a severe head injury caused by an apparent hit-and-run accident.
Det. Rob Marske with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Lake Patrol Division said the people on that other boat would not come help but some other good Samaritans sped right over.
“They didn’t really see the crash itself,” Marske said. “But they saw before and they saw after.”
The injured young man spent three weeks in a coma — but survived the crash.
Witnesses were able to put together a good description of the hit-and-run boat. Marske said the fishing-style boat is approximately 18-feet-long and has a light grey lower half and dark-colored upper half.
There is also some kind of black lettering on the side, grey carpet on the back deck and a windshield, only the driver’s side. At the time, it had a white canopy top and probable damage on the front passenger side.
Marske said there was a male driver and a female passenger on board and they are most likely locals. There is a $4,500 reward for anyone who comes forward with information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
