PHOENIX — The attendance rates for Arizona Diamondbacks’ home games increased by 7 percent this season compared to last, according to Phoenix Business Journal.
The team averaged 26,462 fans per game at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix, the publication said.
Despite the gains in home game attendance, the Diamondbacks still rank 18th among Major League Baseball teams in per-game attendance.
This data comes just days after the Diamondbacks clinch its first spot in the postseason since 2011, according to Arizona Sports.
The team will get home field advantage for the playoff game on Oct. 4 and will go up against either the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals or Colorado Rockies.
But for Diamondbacks fans who are looking to attend the Wild Card game, they might be out of luck: Tickets to the game sold out in less than two hours, the team announced on Monday.
