PHOENIX — A movie about the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives in the 2013 Yarnell Hill Fire will feature a song from Arizona native and country singer Dierks Bentley.

The movie, called “Only the Brave,” is set to be released on Oct. 20. Bentley, who was born in Phoenix and resides in Tempe, will have his song “Hold the Light” featured in the motion picture.

“This is at the top, if not the most meaningful experience I’ve ever been a part of,” said Bentley in a statement on his website. “It hits me harder than any other song I’ve had a chance to be a part of.”

Two trailers are already out for the film, which will tell the story of the fallen hotshots, from their training to their deaths outside of Yarnell.

The song is Bentley’s first to be recorded for a movie.

“Over the last couple years I’ve met and gotten to know Brendan, the sole survivor, and my mom has met with some of the guys’ families, and it’s still unfathomable to put yourself in any of their shoes,” Bentley said. “But our goal was to create a message of hope and love. I’m honored to have been a part of it.”

The song was written by Bentley, Bon Iver’s S. Carey, Jon Randall and the movie’s composer, Joe Trapanese.
