PHOENIX — A Phoenix fire rescue crew rescued a female hiker who became lost while hiking on Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, a fire department spokesman said Wednesday.
The unidentified hiker told emergency responders that she got lost while descending the mountain on Cholla Trail around noon on Wednesday, said Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Capt. Jake Van Hook.
The woman, who is from out of town, said she initially became confused near the top of the trail, but attempted to make her way down the mountain anyway, according to Van Hook.
Rescue crews were able to locate the hiker and helped her down the trail, Van Hook said.
