Apple set to announce latest iPhone in September

Sep 9, 2017, 3:45 PM

In a world where smart phones are constantly evolving and companies are trying to get a leg up on one another, Apple will announce its latest game-changer, the iPhone 8, on Tuesday.

Since coming on the scene in 2007, the iPhone has been a staple in most households, but with the added pressure from other phone companies, like Samsung, Apple hasn’t been the dominant powerhouse that people have grown accustomed to.

All that may change after Sept. 12.

In this clip, you can see the growth that the smart phone has made over the years. Gone are the bulky keyboards that include, wait for it, buttons and in are the touch screens that can now do more than just make a call or send a message.

The iPhone 8 is rumored to have a smaller bezel, so more screen, and instead of using a fingerprint to lock or unlock your phone, it is believed the Apple product will have facial recognition. Wireless charging, an all-glass back and the removal of the home button are also rumored changes.

With 2017 being the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone, Apple is hoping it can separate itself, again, from the rest of the competition with a total redesign.

But with more advanced technology, comes a higher price.

It’s rumored that the iPhone 8 will cost around $999 due to the redesigning of its screen, among other things.

The previous model, the iPhone 7, starts around $650.
