This article originally appeared Sept. 11, 2017.

Our first case is about an audacious woman who stole from a place of worship while she had a child with her.

“On Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at about 11 p.m., a female suspect entered a synagogue at Lincoln (Drive) and 21st Street” Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said.

She stole power tools from a classroom at Chabad of Arizona Synagogue and took off, but not before surveillance cameras captured pictures of her.

Police are hoping you’ll contact them if you recognize her or if she tried to sell some of those tools to you.

Next, we head to the Circle K on 35th Avenue a few blocks south of Thomas Road. It was just after 5 a.m. on Saturday, July 28.

“This guy came in with a plan,” Rothschild said. “He pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the clerk.  He even had his own garbage bag which he handed to the clerk.”

The clerk complied with his demands but the guy apparently got impatient.

“He ran around the counter and tried to reach into the cash register and grab the drawer,” Rothschild said.

He dropped the drawer, scattering the money. As he was picking up the money and gathering the other items he was trying to steal, a customer walked in. The suspect then pointed a gun at that person and robbed them.

Rothschild said, in the video, the suspect looks frantic.

“He’s got items on the counter, he’s trying to hold his gun, he’s trying to gather the items he’s trying to steal,” he said. “Then, finally, he just takes an armload of the items and leaves in a light-colored four-door vehicle.”

The car has faded paint on the hood.
