It was announced on Friday that White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is out.

Reports are that Bannon “resigned” two weeks ago but was staying in his role until a date to be decided. The White House released a statement that read, “White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Steve Bannon have mutually agreed today would be Steve’s last day. We are grateful for his service and wish him the best.”

This is both good and bad.

It’s bad because Bannon is of the “America First” ideology. He was very influential with President Trump. He is the polar opposite of Globalists like National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster.  In the battle for Trump’s policy, Bannon fought daily to ensure the president’s decisions reflected the promises he made during the campaign.

Bannon’s removal is good in that he was a self-made distraction in the White House who consistently created chaos and leaks in an attempt to force President Trump to make personnel decisions.  I previously called for Bannon’s removal because I believed he leaked info to the press in order to make others in the White House look bad. Perhaps those people tried to undermine the president’s “America First” Agenda, but I disagreed with Bannon’s approach of causing chaos through leaks in the White House.

I also didn’t trust Bannon because he is a tool of the Mercer family, which owns Breitbart. I think he put his and the Mercers’ ambitions above those of the president. Although their political ideology is closer to mine than not, I disagree with anyone who serves to influence the president, versus serving to assist the President.

Who President Trump names to replace Bannon will be a clear indication as to what direction the Trump Administration will go politically, in the future. America First or Globalist? Will he bring in someone of McMaster’s globalist ideology or will he bring in someone like Steven Miller who is a brilliant, young strategist more of Bannon’s ilk?

My fingers are crossed Trump chooses Miller, or someone like him, as the next White House chief strategist.
