PHOENIX — All art is special in its own way, but one art exhibit has been extra special at a Phoenix museum.

The “Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera” collection features over 100 unique pieces of art valued over $250 million.

Art lovers now have some extra time to go view the collection, as the Heard Museum announced they are extending the viewing until Labor Day because of its popularity.

The Heard Museum marks the only North American stop on a limited world tour for the Kahlo exhibit, and has already drawn nearly 80,000 people since it debuted in April.

Over 3,000 people attended the museum on Kahlo’s birthday alone.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports the attendance for this exhibit tripled a Heard Museum record, citing a year over year increase from 110 percent to 251 percent between April and July.

The art exhibit was originally scheduled to last until Aug. 20
