Main Street Minute: YMCA grant money will go toward kids’ programs

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• The Valley of the Sun YMCA has received a $250,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities. The money will support programs for water safety, day camp, after-school and resident camp.
• A couple of job fairs were scheduled for Wednesday. Local, regional and Fortune 500 companies will be in attendance from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near 44th and Washington streets in Phoenix. At another event, professional services company Cognizant is looking for bilingual and English speaking social media customer service representatives. The job fair runs from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Goodwill Career Center near 35th and Peoria avenues.
• Scottsdale-based Sitelock has acquired Dutch web-security startup Patchman. Sitelock has 20 job openings in the Valley, including sales, website security analyst, IT, marketing, and a social media manager.
