Two arrested for 76 pounds of meth, other drugs in Glendale

PHOENIX — Two people were arrested for possession of 76 pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs in Glendale, Arizona.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said detectives were conducting surveillance near 51st and Missouri Avenues where they suspected a business was being used for the sale and distribution of meth on Tuesday.
Authorities reported they found 76 pounds worth of meth and other drugs when investigating.
When a car left the business Tuesday evening, a trooper stopped the car near 51st Avenue and Thomas Road, where there were three people inside. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was never found, but the other two were detained.
The vehicle held 43 pounds of methamphetamine and $10,000 cash, and police found an additional 33 pounds of meth, 7.5 pounds of heroin and 24 pounds of marijuana at the business and at a residence connected to the business.
The street value of the drugs seized is $234,400, according to AZDPS.
