Haboob hits the Phoenix metro area, dust advisories follow
The National Weather Service issued a dust storm warning stretching from south of the Phoenix metro area to Tucson on Sunday afternoon and evening.
The alert lasted until 8 p.m. and was followed by a dust advisory in the Phoenix metro area and East Valley that was set to last until 10 p.m.

Gusty winds of more than 40 mph caused limited visibility of less than a mile and led to dangerous conditions for drivers along Interstate 10.

A haboob was seen approaching Maricopa, Ariz., just south of the Valley just before 7 p.m.
Phoenix awaited another round of winds and the potential for the first significant monsoon storms of the year after Friday and Saturday teased Valley residents with active weather but no storms.
