PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey will take part in two different discussion panels at the National Governors Association Summer Meeting in Rhode Island next week.

Ducey’s office announced that the governor will first join a panel with Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo on Thursday. There, he will discuss trade activity and strategies for attracting foreign investments in a panel called “States’ Role in Trade in the Changing Environment,” a statement said.

Then, on Friday, Ducey will participate in the panel called “Collaborating to Create Tomorrow’s Global Economy.” He may discuss governors’ roles in global economics, as well as the development of international economic relationships. There, he’ll be joined by other U.S. governors and premiers from Canada and Mexico, a statement said.

“When it comes to winning in the global marketplace, relationships matter,” Ducey said in the release.

Ducey has previously emphasized his desire to maintain strong trade ties with Mexico.

A report from The American Enterprise Institute said earlier this year that Mexico is Arizona’s top trading partner. Ducey said the same in his office’s statement.

We want to hear from you.
