Valley Metro offering ways to get to Fourth of July celebrations

Valley Metro will be running on a Sunday schedule while providing additional services to get riders to and from Fourth of July celebrations throughout the Valley on Tuesday.
The Metro Light Rail will have enhanced services starting at 5 p.m. to support holiday activities in downtown Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa.
Riders can get to the Fabulous Phoenix 4th at Steele Indian School Park from the Campbell/Central Avenue or Indian School/Central Avenue stations, while those heading to the July 4 Tempe Town Lake Festival can get off at the Mill Avenue/Third Street station. Individuals heading to the Arizona Celebration of Freedom at the Mesa Amphitheatre/Mesa Convention Center can access it from the Center/Main Street station.
Meanwhile, the Tempe bus service will provided extended support for Tempe Town Lake, with bus routes running every 15 minutes northbound on Mill Avenue until 9 p.m. with a return service until midnight on the southbound routes.
In Mesa, Route 40, which services Main Street, will offer trips every 30 minutes until 11 p.m. to support festivities going on at the amphitheatre and convention center.
Valley Metro is also advising passengers to expect a greater use of park-and-rides and light rail trains, especially after the conclusion of firework shows. Riders are encourage to plan ahead by purchasing fares in advance and allowing for extra time to reach your destinations.
