Tom, James Franco to bring ceramic pipe exhibit to ASU Art Museum

PHOENIX — Movie star James Franco and his brother Tom are a part of a new project to bring giant ceramic pipes to a unique ASU Art Museum exhibit.
According to a statement from Arizona State University, the exhibit begins Saturday and ends Sept. 23, and will be held at ASU Art Museum Ceramics Research. The pipes are carved and painted with artwork, stand seven and a half feet tall and weigh nearly 750 pounds each.
The exhibit is called “Pipe Brothers: Tom and James Franco” and is result of the brothers building the artwork for a year. The giant “sewer pipes” are built from Mission Clay Products, a factory based in Phoenix.
Tom Franco is a full-time sculptor and builder, the release said. James, meanwhile, has starred or appeared in movies like “Pineapple Express,” “This is the End,” “The Interview,” and even “Spider-Man.”
