PHOENIX — Two co-working spaces — also known as shared office spaces — in Phoenix were named by “Inc.” as two of the best in the country.
“Co+Hoots” and “Galvanize” were the Valley companies that made the Top 23.
As ‘Inc.’ describes it in their article, co-working spaces are a solution for startup businesses who wish to obtain office space, but are torn between overpaying for an office space that has room for growth or getting a smaller office space with the risk of outgrowing it.
Shared spaces also typically give business owners flexibility in their lease options.
According to Phoenix Business Journal, the Phoenix-based Co+Hoots was founded by Jenny Poon, whom the Journal named their 2016 Businessperson of the Year.
“Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the CO+HOOTS shared space is home to great services, amenities, and collaboration,” Inc.’s Larry Kim wrote. “Members here say it offers access to an incredible local community of entrepreneurs who are full of enthusiasm and energy – and ready to grow their businesses.”
Co+Hoots’ Phoenix space is near Central Avenue and Indian School Road.
Galvanize is based in Denver but has a location near 7th Street and Grant Street in downtown Phoenix, south of Chase Field. Phoenix Business Journal said it’s Galvanize’s third-biggest campus in the U.S. and has already attracted 87 companies.
“Galvanize bills itself as a place where your company will get more than just office space,” Kim wrote. “With eight locations across the U.S., Galvanize puts a heavy emphasis on education, calling itself a learning community for technology.”
Co+Hoots and Galvanized placed 4th and 12th on Inc.’s list, respectively.
