Car hits pedestrians, 1 killed, 1 injured in Gilbert

PHOENIX — Two people crossing a street were hit by a car Thursday morning in suburban Phoenix, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
The accident at Val Vista Drive and Elliot Road in Gilbert shut down southbound lanes on Val Vista Drive.
