PHOENIX — An Arizona college student who is living in the country illegally is receiving backlash after posting a picture of her tax return on Facebook.

In her post on Sunday, 23-year-old Belen Sisa wrote she paid the state of Arizona $300 in taxes and knows she cannot ask for tax-funded support.

“I cannot receive financial aid from the state or federal government for school, I cannot benefit from unemployment, a reduced healthcare plan, or a retirement fund,” she wrote.

Sisa also issued a challenge to President Donald Trump, who has not released his tax returns — save for a 2005 return announced after it was obtained by media — despite his critics demanding he do so.

“Wanna tell me again how I should be deported, contribute nothing and only leech off this country while the 1 percent wealthiest people in this country steal from you everyday? How about you show me yours Donald J. Trump?”

Though she admits she is an undocumented immigrant, Sisa is shielded from possible deportation by former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

The Arizona Republic reports Sisa came to the United States from Argentina when she was 6-years-old. Her parents overstayed their visas.

Sisa said she was hoping to “make a statement and educate people” but instead received a slew of negative comments, including some saying they were reporting her to federal officials.

Sisa served as a page at the Democratic National Convention last year.
