Several Phoenix-area freeways to be closed, restricted during March 3 weekend

PHOENIX — It may be the first weekend of a new month, but the old freeway closures and restrictions in the Phoenix metropolitan area still remain.
Here are the freeway closures and restrictions for the weekend of March 3, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
• Westbound US 60 will be closed between Gilbert Road and Stapley Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for traffic-flow sensor installation. Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Greenfield Road and Val Vista Drive will also be closed.
• Westbound US 60 will be closed at Stapley Drive from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for traffic-flow detector installation. Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Val Vista Drive and Gilbert Road will also be closed.
• Northbound Loop 202 will be closed between Guadalupe Road and University Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday for lane striping. Both US 60 ramps to northbound Loop 202 and the northbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Elliot Road will also be closed.
• Southbound Loop 202 will be closed between University Drive and Elliot Road from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday for lane striping. Both US 60 ramps to southbound Loop 202 will also be closed.
• Interstate 17 will be closed briefly at times in both directions between Anthem Way and New River Road from 2 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday for APS overhead power line work.
• Northbound Interstate 17 will be narrowed to one lane between Adams Street and Interstate 10 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday for construction.
• Westbound Interstate 10 ramp to southbound State Route 85 will be closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday for lane striping.
• Northbound SR 85 ramp to westbound I-10 will also be closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.
