Northern Arizona to get snow this weekend, Valley could see rain

PHOENIX — The National Weather Service is reporting that Flagstaff will likely see snow, beginning on Sunday.
Michael Langevin, with the weather service, said one to three inches of snow is possible for the storm — the brunt of which will likely fall on Tuesday — and that snow will fall at approximately 5,000 to 5,500 feet in elevation.
Langevin said Flagstaff is behind its normal pace for snowfall this winter.
“Our normal value for snowfall is at 69.8 (inches) and we’re now at 66,” he said. “A little behind, but it won’t take much to bring it near average.”
In the Valley, there’s a 10 percent chance of showers on Monday, increasing to 30 percent on Monday night. Temperatures for the weekend and early next week could reach lows in the low-to-mid 40s with highs below 70 during the day.
The upcoming rain won’t match the storm that rolled through Arizona last weekend, leaving nearly an inch of rain in Phoenix and flooding some roadways.
