Arizona Department of Child Safety provides safe sleep baby bed boxes

PHOENIX — Arizona’s Department of Child Safety is giving away commercially produced baby bed boxes to parents to help prevent sleep-related infant deaths.
The boxes would be used as a portable beds to provide a safe place to sleep.
To receive one of the baby beds, parents must sign a form acknowledging their completion of training in safe sleep practices and their commitment to using them properly.
DCS launched the safe sleep campaign program to educate parents and families about practices to ensure the protection of their children. The program also provides resources for parents who are in need of cribs.
The department lists its ABCs of general sleep safety practices — alone, back (babies sleep safest on their backs) and crib — and more on its website.
According to a 2015 report from the Arizona Child Fatality Review, 74 babies died from sleeping in unsafe environments and a team reported that more than 90 percent of the deaths were considered preventable.
