PHOENIX — For the next nine days, Arizona will be celebrating everything that is beer.

The annual Arizona Beer Week began Thursday and runs until Feb. 18. More than 100 breweries, distributors and other partners will partake in the more than 200 events statewide offered during the celebration.

The headline event of Arizona Beer Week — the Arizona Strong Beer Festival — takes place Saturday. It will feature more than 450 beers from more then 130 breweries grouped together at Steele Indian School Park, located near Indian School Road and Central Avenue in Phoenix.

As of Friday afternoon, only general admission and designated driver tickets were available. The general admission tickets are $45 and include 40 tasting tickets, while designated driver entry is $10.

In addition to a slew of beer, there will also be food vendors, DJs and games.

Aside from the Strong Beer Festival, there are hundreds of beer-centered events taking place all around Arizona. Some of the events include tap takeovers — where a bar allows a certain brewery to commandeer many of its tap handles — car shows and movie screenings.

Most of the events are free to attend, but, of course, the beer isn’t free.

There are also special hotel and rideshare deals available.

This will be the seventh Arizona Beer Week. It is coordinated by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, an organization that represents and promotes the state’s craft breweries.

We want to hear from you.
