PHOENIX — What ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft did in hurting the taxi cab companies, a new service might do the same when it comes to shipping companies.
Roadie is a new peer-to-peer deliver services that utilizes individuals who are currently already on the road in the middle of a road trip to transport packages across town or even across the country.
And it’s not just small stuff either, as Roadie also allows people to send everything including large items such as furniture or bicycles.
By utilizing people who are already driving in the right directions, the company will allow individuals to save on shipping costs by offering last minute sending options with guaranteed same day or next day delivery, as well as weekend delivery.
The company will also offer tracking and insurance of up to $10,000.
