Casa Grande motor sports park could have multibillion dollar impact

PHOENIX — A motor sports park complex planned for Casa Grande could reportedly have a multibillion dollar impact on the Arizona economy.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports the park, called Attesa, will cost at least $1.1 billion alone to build. About 10,000 workers — who should make a total salary in the neighborhood of $345 million — will play a part in the park’s construction.
Once construction on the park is completed, it will employ about 13,000 full- and part-time employees. The extra hires will have an economic output of about $1.7 billion.
According to estimates from Elliott D. Pollack & Company, about 371,000 people will visit Attesa each year. These visitors will spend about $40 million annually and would support somewhere around an additional 500 jobs.
“We were pleasantly surprised with the report’s findings,” Pat Johnson, president of Danrick Builders, said in a release sent to Pinal Central. “It shows we’re on the right track with Attesa on all fronts. Casa Grande and the state are going to begin benefiting the day we break ground and the impact is only going to grow going forward.”
Both Pinal County and Arizona as a whole should benefit from Attesa. The state stands to make more than $50 million during the construction process, while Pinal County should haul in $12 million.
After construction in completed, Arizona should see about $43 million from operating revenues and Pinal County should expect about $20 million to pour into its coffers.
Visitor spending is expected to pump an additional $2 million of annual tax revenue into Arizona’s account and Pinal County should see an annual payout of $500,000.
Attesa was announced in June 2016.
Attesa will feature two 2.8-mile road courses, a karting track, a driver experience center and a multi-surface racing and event area, according to Danrick Builders. The company said the park will also have a private airport with a 6,000-foot runway.
