I-10 in downtown Phoenix to be closed overnight for tunnel cleaning, maintenance

PHOENIX — After a long work week, the last thing you want is get caught up in traffic on the weekend. Avoid these closures or lane restrictions along Phoenix-area freeways, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

• Eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed between the Interstate 17 stack interchange and State Route 51 from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for tunnel cleaning and maintenance.

• Both I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the stack will be closed.

• Westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between the I-17 split interchange near Sky Harbor Airport and 7th Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for tunnel cleaning and maintenance.

• Southbound State Route 51 ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed.

• Southbound I-17 ramp to westbound I-10 at the split interchange, including the Sky Harbor Airport exit, will be closed.

• Westbound Loop 202 ramp to westbound I-10 will be open, but traffic must exit the I-10 at 7th Street and will use the local detour.

• Eastbound US 60 will be closed between Alma School Road and Country Club Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday for traffic-flow detector installation.

• Both Loop 101 ramps to eastbound US 60 will be closed.

• The eastbound US 60 on-ramp at Dobson Road will be closed.

• Eastbound US 60 will be closed between the Loop 101 and Dobson Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday for traffic-flow sensor installation.

• Both Loop 101 ramps to eastbound US 60 will be closed.

• Eastbound US 60 on-ramp at McClintock Drive will be closed.

• Eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between Dobson and Alma School roads from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday for resurfacing.

• Westbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between Alma School and Dobson roads from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday for resurfacing. On- and off-ramps in the area will be closed.

• Southbound State Route 51 will be closed overnight between Colter Street and Highland Avenue from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for traffic-flow detector installation.

• Southbound SR 51 on-ramp at Bethany Home Road will be closed.

• Cotton Lane will be closed in both directions between Van Buren and Garfield streets in Goodyear from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday for construction at the future Loop 303 bridge over Van Buren Street.
