PHOENIX — With slightly more than a week until Super Bowl LI kicks off in Houston, we’re starting to get excited.
We just know it’s going to be filled with all sorts of crazy antics, probably a few decent songs and everyone will be talking about it Monday after the game. Especially the cats, those are always a hit.
What, you think we were talking about the game? We’re excited for the ads, especially since the Cardinals aren’t playing!
The ads that air during the Super Bowl are often some of the best of the year. Advertisers really outdo themselves to get attention and, at an estimated cost of $5 million per spot, it’s no wonder they are all about turning heads.
Arizona-based GoDaddy used to be one of the most notorious companies in terms of Super Bowl ads. The commercials used to feature scantily-clad women and encouraged people to head online to see the rest of the spot.
In recent years, the website domain hosting company has moved away from the provocative ads and gone with things a little more on the funny side and this year looks to be about the same.
The company released a brief teaser of its ad this week and it features something pretty much everyone loves: cats riding robotic vacuums.
GoDaddy said the commercial is designed to be a compilation of things the internet loves and will introduce a new character who personifies the internet.
It sounds weird, but it looks funny. We can’t wait to catch the ad during the big game.
