Main Street Minute: West Valley fire department launches ambulance service

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• The Peoria Fire and Medical Department has launched its own ambulance service. Additional firefighters have been hired and paramedics trained to staff two full-time ambulances. They’ll be working alongside private ambulances.
• There is a resource and career fair for veterans Wednesday in Phoenix. The event runs from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. near 24th Street and McDowell Road.
• National General Insurance is hiring customer care and servicing representatives. The auto insurance company is interviewing candiates between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday at its Mesa office near Alma School Road and Southern Avenue.
