Sedona named a top place to go in 2017 by multiple outlets

PHOENIX — The Grand Canyon always seems to be the place in Arizona that has the most tourists and makes its way on people’s bucket lists.
After all, it is known for being one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
But another location in Arizona is getting more notice in 2017.
At least two different outlets have named Sedona as one of the top places people should visit this year.
In the New York Times’ “52 Places to Go in 2017,” Sedona earned the 33rd spot in the world, with no other place in Arizona falling on the list.
Snowbirds have traditionally escaped gray skies by fleeing to the tropics. But with continued C.D.C. warnings about the Zika virus, some travelers — especially potential parents — are seeking mosquito-free destinations. Consider Sedona, which basks in the dry warmth of the Arizona desert, its natural beauty gleaming under a new sheen of luxury. Last year, resorts like L’Auberge de Sedona and Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock completed multimillion-dollar renovations. New restaurants like Mariposa, L’Auberge’s Cress on Oak Creek and SaltRock Southwest Kitchen have attracted national praise. And a growing wine industry draws oenophiles eager to sample the vintages of the Verde Valley.
Travel+Leisure named Sedona to its “15 Great Trips to Take with Your Friends” list.
Get in tune with positive energy in Sedona, home to vortexes, crystal peddlers, and an easy relationship with nature.
