Two different parking lot armed robberies and two very distinctive suspect descriptions.

First, we head to the Metrocenter Mall area of Phoenix and the parking lot of First Pawn. It was Monday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2016.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said the suspect is about 35 years old.

“What’s distinctive about him is that he appears to have several tattoos — a swastika on the back of his head, flames around his neck and an SS on the right side of his cheek.”

He pretended to have a gun under his jacket and robbed a 19-year-old of his laptop in the parking lot but before that, he went into the pawn shop. That’s why we have crystal-clear pictures.

Our next crime happened outside the IHOP on 44th Street south of Thomas Road about 4:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016.

Two men entered the lobby of the restaurant.

“And what really should have drawn attention to [one of the suspects] is he was wearing a ballistic vest, a bulletproof vest,” Rothschild said.

“He didn’t have it strapped on, it was just hanging loosely around his neck.”

The men followed two customers out of the restaurant and into the parking lot, where they struck one of the victims in the face with a long rifle.

They robbed both victims before making their getaway in a black Chevy SUV that was described as having a loud muffler, large rims and several license plate lights.
