LISTEN: Ex-Arizona Governor Jan Brewer on attending Trump's inauguration.

Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is going to have a good view of the Donald Trump’s inauguration and she has words for the Democratic politicians who have decided not to attend.

“Jeez, Louise, you know, he hasn’t even been inaugurated. Give the guy a chance. Beat him up day after tomorrow if you want to, but … let’s come together and show the world this is the United States of America,” Brewer said Thursday on KTAR Arizona’s Morning News.

Two U.S. congressmen from Arizona, Ruben Gallego and Raul Grijalva, have gone on the record to say they won’t attend the swearing-in of the 45th president of America, scheduled for Friday morning.

At least 48 other House Democrats planned to skip the festivities.

“All I’ve seen is happy Americans everywhere,” Brewer said. “It’s very, very exciting. The buildup has been terrific.”

An early and vocal Trump supporter, she has been in the nation’s capital since Wednesday.

This marks the second time Brewer has attended a presidential inauguration. She also made the trip to Washington D.C. for one of former President George W. Bush’s inaugurations.

“You’re so inspired and you’re sitting at the steps of the United States Congress of the most powerful country in the world and you’re sitting there with all these important people who are going to determine our destiny – it’s just overwhelming,” she said.

“Regardless of who is being inaugurated, it just makes you proud.”

Now a private citizen, Brewer ran the state of Arizona for six years and spent 32 years as a public servant. She said she watched many an inauguration the same way millions of others do — on television.

“I’ve sat by my television and watched all the inaugurals in the past … the parades. It is an amazing, amazing process.”

Especially in person.

“I do get a nice seat,” she joked.

We want to hear from you.
