PHOENIX — Buyers, sellers and car fans in general will convene in Scottsdale this weekend as the annual Barrett-Jackson auto auction revs into action.

The event — held at Westworld of Scottsdale near Bell Road and the Loop 101 — begins Saturday and runs until Jan. 22. Gates open at 8 a.m. every day.

This weekend will serve as a preview to all the buying fun. The auction itself will begin at 9 a.m. Monday and run through next Sunday. Hundreds of cars — ranging from the classic to the eclectic — are on this year’s docket. Some will likely be sold for record prices.

If you’re bidding on a car, you may want to check out the people around you, as well-known celebrities are known to frequent the event, whether it’s to buy, sell or just enjoy the atmosphere. Singer Justin Bieber is selling his blue Ferrari at this year’s auction.

Tickets to the event start at $19 for adults, but can be higher depending on the day of the week. A weeklong pass is $175, but goes up to $190 if bought at the gate. Discounted tickets are available for children, seniors, students and members of the military.

VIP tickets are also available.

The auction generates millions of dollars for the Scottsdale area annually.

We want to hear from you.
