Jon Meis didn’t stop a shooter at Seattle Pacific University for any kind of public recognition or reward, but that’s exactly what the 22-year-old building monitor is receiving after stopping the shooter who killed a 19-year-old and wounded two others.
According to KIRO-TV, Meis pepper-sprayed and tackled the gunman Thursday after he stopped to reload his shotgun, likely preventing further carnage.
Now Meis, who is engaged with the wedding scheduled for June 21, is receiving items off his registry list from anonymous people in support.
According to the TV station, all but one item on his Crate & Barrel registry was fulfilled by 11:45 a.m. on Friday. The electrical engineering student wasn’t injured in the shooting, which took place on the campus of the small, private Christian university about 10 minutes north of downtown Seattle.
