PHOENIX — The Phoenix area ushered in the new year with a unique type of weather for the Valley: Rain.
A cold front delivering rain and cold weather moved into the Valley on Sunday morning and continued well into Monday.
The entire metro area got rain on Monday, with some areas, like Chandler, seeing as much as five-and-a-half inches of rain. Most of the Valley got anywhere between two to four inches of rain on Monday.
The rain was a continuation from what the Valley saw on New Year’s Day. Rainfall totals at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport measured 0.20 of an inch on Sunday, while other parts of the Valley received anywhere from 0.10 of an inch to 0.70 of an inch.
