No reason to feel lonely: Phoenix is one of the best cities for singles

PHOENIX — Whether you are single, have a partner, have a spouse or a have a big family, everybody feels lonely sometimes. There’s always those certain hours in the day that you want to be close to someone, either mentally or physically.
For the singles in the Phoenix area, now is a good time to be looking for that special someone, according to one survey.
WalletHub named Phoenix the eighth best city for singles in the nation out of the 150 most populated cities.
The survey was conducted on seven different categories: Restaurant-Meal costs, movie costs, percentage of single persons, crime rate, average beer and wine price, beauty salon costs and singles gender balance.
Phoenix’s best ranking in those categories came in the average beer and wine price, earning the fourth lowest cost out of the cities surveyed. Phoenix also ranked in the top 10 in singles gender balance (ninth) and earned a ranking of 11 in beauty salon costs.
Tempe (15) and Scottsdale (21) both cracked the overall top 25, while Tucson (33) and Chandler (36) were the only other Arizona cities in the top 50.
San Francisco was named the best city in the country for singles.
