Freeway restrictions around the Valley include closures on I-17

PHOENIX — This weekend, Dec. 2 through 5, will not see extensive freeway restrictions that has occurred in the past around the Phoenix-area. Instead, the Arizona Department of Transportation is reporting that there are only two planned freeway restrictions.

• Southbound Interstate 17 on-ramp at Daisy Mountain Drive near Anthem will be closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 for pavement improvements. ADOT advises drivers to consider using the southbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to westbound Pioneer Road in order to access the I-17.

• Eastbound Glendale Avenue at the I-17 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 to 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5 for additional pavement work. Drivers are to consider using eastbound Bethany Home Road or Northern Avenue.
