PHOENIX — A 1-year-old boy is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in a Phoenix neighborhood.

Phoenix police say a driver was backing out of a private driveway in a trailer complex near 21st Avenue and Buckeye Road and hit the child. The driver ran the child to the parents to let them know of the collision.

The child was quickly taken to a hospital by his parents. While on the phone with emergency services, the parents were convinced that it was better for them to pull over at 7th Avenue and Broadway Road and have police and fire personnel take the child the rest of the way to ensure everyone arrived safely.

We want to hear from you.
