PHOENIX –The Arizona Coyotes Foundation has announced the donation of $619,000 to local charitable and youth hockey organizations around the Valley.

The donation represents a significant increase from the foundation’s $450,000 donation to local non-profits in 2015.

“The Arizona Coyotes Foundation is committed to giving back to our community,” Andrew Barroway, Coyotes majority owner, chairman and governor, said in a press release.

“With the support of our corporate partners, private donors and fans, the Arizona Coyotes are creating positive change in the Valley of the Sun and impacting the lives of many.”

Twenty-three organizations received grants from the foundation, ranging from HopeKids and Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation, to Special Olympics Arizona and Desert Hockey Development.

Since it’s creation in 1996, the Arizona Coyotes Foundation has served as the official charitable arm of the organization and has raised millions of dollars in support of non-profit organizations throughout Arizona.

A full list of organizations that received grants can be found here.
