The presidential election is less than two weeks away, and what is a state that traditionally votes Republican finds itself as an unfamiliar battleground state.

The latest poll said presidential nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are essentially tied among likely voters in Arizona, and according to Secretary of State Michele Reagan, more people want to be heard lately to try to sway the vote one way or the other.

Reagan announced the latest voter registration figures have risen by almost 188,000, to make the state active voters mark 3.6 million.

According to the secretary of state’s office, it was the largest report-to-report increase since the 2008 general election jumped 230,989 voters at one time.

“I was thrilled to see the number of registered voters increase this much,” said Reagan. “The level of interest in this election is extremely high and it looks as if that passion has translated into people registering to vote at a high rate.”

The latest voter registration figures can be found here, or by calling 1-877-THE-VOTE.
