The Apache Junction Justice Court is giving people with outstanding misdemeanor warrants a chance to get their case back on track and not go to jail. On Saturday, the court is hosting its first ever “Warrant Resolution Day.”

If you have an outstanding minor warrant from Apache Junction, you can go to the court from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. to get your warrant quashed and either began payments for a fine again, or get a new hearing date.

Judge Shaun Babeu decided to open the courts on Saturday to help those who may not be able to get off work during the week.

“Many people have to make a tough decision on coming to court or potentially losing their job, so we want to see if we can work toward getting these cases back on track and clear the warrant,” Babeu said.

He also said the warrant resolution day will also help Pinal County save money. Every time someone is arrested for an outstanding warrant, it costs the county $73 a day to keep them in jail.

If you have a suspended driver’s license, you can also get it reinstated tomorrow. If you have defaulted on a payment plan for a fine, you can pay an initial $50 fee and restart your payment plan to get the suspension on your driver’s license lifted.

The Apache Junction Justice Court is located at 575 N. Idaho Rd., Suite 200. You can also call the court Saturday morning to see if your warrant is eligible for the resolution day at 480-982-2921.

We want to hear from you.
