The surprising amount of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ that didn’t require CGI

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ is such a spectacle as a film that it’s easy to believe a majority of the film was CGI.
While that is the case, it’s a surprising image to see how many of the stunts and driving scenes were actually real and shot by director George Miller.
A behind the scenes video of the critically acclaimed film shows just that.
High speed chases in the desert that end with vehicles crashing and burning are a large element of the movie, and a good chunk of them were actually legitimate.
The highlight of the video, however, is the men painted in white swinging on poles were really strapped in while the vehicles were moving at an incredible pace. This includes one of the standout moments in the film, when one of those men jumps from one car to another to stab the engine of a vehicle. While he was harnessed in, the video reveals most of this was real.
