Main Street Minute: Insurance giant hiring for Phoenix-area hub

• State Farm continues its expansion in Arizona with plans to hire 900 employees between now and the end of the year. The insurance giant is holding a job fair Thursday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Mesa Hotel near Loop 202 and Rio Salado Parkway. All the hires will work at the company’s regional hub in downtown Tempe.
• Truckstop.com has moved to the Valley, toting lots of jobs along, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey’s office announced. The transportation logistics company has set up shop near Seventh and Missouri streets in Phoenix, and will initially create 60 full-time positions.
• Travel agents could be making a comeback. According to a survey from marketing company MMGY Global, nearly 20 percent of travelers have used an agent over the past year. That’s up from 12 percent just three years ago.
