Main Street Minute: Security firm in Valley hiring 100 officers

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• Allied Universal Security has openings for 100 security officers. Allied is holding a hiring event Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and another on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. both at the Moxy Hotel in Tempe.

• Bank of America has awarded $205,000 to 10 Valley nonprofits. The grant money will be used to increase housing and educational opportunities for families. The awardees are Arizona Housing Alliance; Back-To-School Clothing Drive Association; Chicanos Por La Causa; Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona; Homeward Bound; Newtown Community Development Corporation; Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun; Tempe Community Council; Trellis; and UMOM New Day Centers.
