• North Phoenix is landing a new burger joint. Caveman Burgers is scheduled to open later this month near 7th Street and Bell Road. The Phoenix Business Journal reports Caveman will focus on locally made food, including Angus and Arizona grass-fed beef, cage-free turkey and wild-caught salmon.
• Groups from Phoenix, California and Illinois shelled out $80 million for nearly 11,000 acres in Buckeye. More than 40,000 homes have been approved to be built in the community that will be called Tartesso, according to the Business and Real Estate Weekly of Arizona.
• The Scottsdale Active 20-30 club raised more than $425,000 for children’s charities last year to benefit groups such as Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona, Care Fun, Playworks, Sharing Down Syndrome Arizona and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. The group will hold its signature event golf tournament and gala event, NiteFlite, on Oct. 14 and 15.
