HILO, Hawaii (AP) – The Coast Guard has suspended its search of a woman reported overboard a cruise ship in Hawaii.
The search for the 54-year-old woman was suspended Friday. Crews searched more than 10,000 square miles since Wednesday.
Princess Cruises spokeswoman Julie Benson says witnesses and security video confirmed the American passenger was “intentionally going overboard.”
The cruise ship changed its course and searched for the woman in waters about 650 miles northeast of Hilo, on Hawaii’s Big Island.
Benson says the ship was three days into a roundtrip cruise from Hawaii to San Francisco.
